LIE OF THE WEEK: 03-02-2007
Vice President Cheney on his tactics when dealing with foreign governments:
"I've seen some reporting that says, 'Cheney went in to beat up on them, threaten them.' That's not the way I work. I don't know who writes that, or maybe somebody gets it from some source who doesn't know what I'm doing or isn't involved in it. But the idea that I'd go in and threaten someone is an invalid reading of the way I do business."
THE TRUTH: Trying to spin your personality after years of public records as a US Congressman, several cabinet positions, CEO at a publicly traded company, and Vice President of the US is not a good idea. It's clear that Vice President Cheney manages his interactions very much through coercive manipulation, including threats, and trying to lie about it just reinforces the notion that he is not someone who deals with the public on an honest basis.
